Even Greater Works
You said my Lord “truly, truly,
If I believeth in you,
I shall do things that you have done,
even greater works than you-- The Son."
From what I’ve seen your words are crossed,
The meaning and belief you spoke of-- lost,
The churches are full but no one’s home,
Gamblers on forgiveness are free to roam.
Your workers don’t sit, nor do they kneel,
They’ve got to much to do-- to much to feel,
They bear your cross there’s so much to do,
No time to sit and sing in the pew.
You said my Lord “truly, truly,
If I believeth in you,
I shall do things that you have done,
Even greater works than you-- The Son."
In the church they have laughs for me,
For what I say here-- is blasphemy,
To be a victim is their final prize,
They think small, "they know not, their size."
The churches are full with no souls alive,
They don’t know like You-- they should arise,
The meaning of you is dead on the cross,
Greater works than yours, has been all-- but lost.
You said my lord “truly, truly,
If I believeth in you,
I shall do things that you have done,
Even greater works than you-- The Son".
The churches are full but the “talents” spent,
Invested in a gamble they pay their rent,
They have nothing to give, but ask your hand,
“They know what they do,” lost souls in the sand.
If I believeth in you, truly, truly,
I’ll turn the tables on church going gamblers,
I shall do the things you have done,
Even greater works than you-- The Son.
