We’re familiar with the idea of there being only 6 people between you and anyone else in the world – and that’s a good thing.

However, consider that there are countless-degrees of separation between you and reality – and that’s not such a good thing. I can hear people’s heads spinning. Let me explain.

Not all that long ago a man could very easily see what he was actually doing.

You pick up a saddle and stick it on a horse. One can see, feel, and smell, etc., the horse and the saddle. Not to mention all the other perceptions that one is aware of in the environment. It was a very tactical, sensory laden world – not too long ago.

There’s a lot of mass in the process of saddling a horse and very little significance.

A child could master it with very little instruction. Heck, if one had even seen a saddle on as horse, at some time, they could figure it all out in about 30 minutes of trial and error – without instruction.

And the same goes for just about every other task that occupied our lives – not too long ago. Very little significance and lots of mass.

Not so in today’s world. In the current state of things the poles have swung 180 degrees. Now it’s ALL significance and virtually ZERO mass.

What does this have to do with writing? As it turns out – everything…

Of course, sometimes you need to have effect to appreciate causes..to measure degrees of knowing, and degres of effect, brings into being, change and then a Game.
The saddest is all effect, and no cause. No game.A Hat of the artist, to put back the game.Todays world, seeks to know, and loses its foothole, sometimes in the crevices of uncertainities.
Too much how to swim, dangers of swimming, etc.. rather than just swim.

The point is that one must have knowledge of what they are doing in order to be cause over it.

And the consideration of just what "knowledge" means.

One can ride a horse at effect just as well as drive a car at effect.

Well, thats interesting,I guess it is indicative of tone.and electronics.I wonder how many people, would be better off, unplugging TVS, computers for a while, and get back to reality of what Is..ride a horse to work, just for fun!

This is great, Sharon. There's no void of down-toned comm on our planet today. You make a great point about creating "good effects", not only in our art, but in our lives as we lead them. That is what Ron says in Route To Infinity- just being a bea…

Your verses leave me detached, suspended in the silence of me. And then the endless contemplations of "what if" so much beauty could fill the spaces of us all.
