Sisu Raiken Bio
"Sisu" means "stubborn and cheerful" in Finnish, and that fairly well describes me.
My purpose in life is to inject ethics and a sense of responsibility into the arts and inspire audiences with the certainty that they as individuals can change conditions and create sanity in the world.
I do this with live performances (singing, acting and improvisation), directing (plays, musicals and other theatrical events), writing (musical revues and fundraisers), public speaking and teaching (voice and drama, particularly to young people).
I have performed on Broadway, Off Broadway, Off Off Broadway and way off Broadway, toured with opera companies, done plays (I especially like Mr. Shakespeare), am a Gilbert and Sullivan nut and have mastered most of the works of the American musical theatre.
I like to push the work of composers as where would I be without them? I don't want to go on and on, as I agree with Brecht's dictum that "less is more." I'd love to see you at one of my concerts and will be happy to add you to my mailing list if you like. This list is like gold to me since I read that The Grateful Dead kept their concerts packed for over 20 years without ever having to write new music just be staying in touch with the Deadheads.

We bought a mobile home in Clearwate. So cheap, we couldn't resist it. And really nice. About 5 minutes from the base. You'll have to visit.

Gracie's all grown up. Great she's on the Basics and you on Solo 1. Are you still performing?
I get rehabbed once in a while on painting and writing but we're really consumed with a business we've had for 5 years. Have to untangle myself from Phase 1 and do some artwork again.
Remember Julius? He's writing songs for the book I wrote a million yeas ago. He has hopes of putting it into an audiobook or something like that.
I haven't decided where I'll be going for my upper bridge. I have 12 intensives paid for in Mexico and - as I said, have to untangle myself. Looking for someone to wear my hat while I'm gone. But that's a short trip to Ca, I can come and visit!
