Brief Bio
Rebecca Mate was born in Denver, Colorado, and wrote her first story at age eleven. Since then, she's had numerous stories, poetry and articles published both in print and on line. She won first place in National Author's Registry contest and was featured in their magazine. Her short story, "Helter-Shelter" was chosen and performed radio-play style at Celebrity Centre. She got Honorable Mention in L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the Future contest for a story called, "Solid Space." Two of her family screenplays were finalists in the Santa Clarita International Film Festival. Her poem, "Peace Ruined Our Game," was given out (with a flower) around the world as part of the Valentine Peace Project. She also does painting as a hobby. She is trained in marketing, an art form which she uses for the betterment of Mankind. She currently lives in Glendale, CA, the Home of Art Day, an international holiday for artist appreciation and funding that she started in 1998.

The Art of Art - Short Story

Art has always been my first and foremost love. My dedication to artistic endeavors consumes most of my time now and I have no spare moments to share with others.
If my pen, pencil or brush make no connection with paper or canvas, then I am less alive.
