Brief Bio
Queen Shamala has lived in California since the 60's, migrating from North Carolina. She earned a B.S.degree in Psychology form the University of SouthernCalifornia and a Masters in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles.Over ten years ago, after a great induction by Spirit she began to paint. her three-dimensional, textural use of painting is called sculptpainting.In her Artfful Lifestyle Studio Highland Park, Shamala paint images of love, light and upliftment. She also facitilatees writing classes, meditations and spiritual counseling.
From 1979 to 1984, Shamala taught English, composition and English as a Second Language(ESL) to high school students.

From 1985 to 2006, ss a secondary counselor, Shamala assisted students with academic, personal, familal, educational, social and career guidance.

She also arranged and supervised group and individual counseling sessions to help students with conflict mediation skills, to decrease student failure, student dropout, student violence and teen pregnancy. She also provides special support services as alcohol , drugs, gangs, suicide prevention counseling and referral.

In additon, as a magnet coordinator, she interfaced with district personnel to ensure that legal mandates were executed at the school site.

New Rhinoceros Children's Book
