The Curse of Nemereth by Marguerite Davis

Title: The Curse of Nemereth

An original novel by Marguerite Davis.

Chapter 1.

Magnolia lane was a pretty suburban street, where very ordinary people lived very ordinary lives. Or so it seemed. Nobody, not even Mrs Wright, an extremely nosy widow from number 12, would suspect there was something strange about the handsome couple, Alan and Patricia Grey, who lived at number 7 with their daughter Sophie. Alan was a stockbroker, and Patricia a freelance… Continue

Henrietta The crystal of power by Marguerite Davis

Title: Henrietta - The Crystal of Power

An original novel by Marguerite Davis.

Chapter 1. The guardians of the Crystal.

A thousand years has passed since Henrietta’s ancestor Cornelius Grey was killed by his twin brother, Darius Grey. Since then Darius has attained immortality and fought violent wars against his family. In pursuit of power he researched many papers, and talked to strange scholars in distant lands, but his time was running out. The child… Continue

Storm Code

Chapter 1.

Fact: 1.7 million personal computers in the English-speaking world have been taken over without their owners knowledge, and can be commanded by an unknown attacker from an unknown central command system.

The command system, which controls it is undetectable. So is the person who runs it.

The owner of the command and control system stared at the gun of an assailant.

‘How did you find me?’ he asked.

‘You made a mistake,’ answered the man. ‘But… Continue

Ghost

Flames come and go among the coals.

Transient, insubstantial, like me.

I am not cold.

The fire is not hot to touch.

Yet I find comfort in fiery colors,

And the memory of warm feelings.

I was reduced to feeling pain.

Now the pain is gone.

My name ….

I am sorry.

You don’t talk to what you can’t see.

Still, there is something I wish I could say.

I have waited for the next heartbeat.

I have lived through… Continue

Wow, Neil, the story is great stuff. It brings to mind William S. Burroughs and Douglas Adams. I'm glad The Badinage moved your imagination. That is the intention of the music on Tea With the Alien!

Nice job!
It should be sung.
Maybe by Mick Jagger.
Or the Irish lass, Enya.
This poem really sings.
Vanessa on January 14, 2009 at 12:36pm
I like every part of it. No complaints at all, it seems to be perfectly written.

Really beautiful! And that last line - magnificent. It made me read it all over again!
Just one thing that stuck my attention and I figure it must have just been a typo:
"I watched moonlight ran across a lake towards me."
Seems it should be "run" across...or "as moonlight ran across..."
Anyway, mere details. Great poem!

Hi Neil:
An excellent poem - eerie - yet not ghoulish . The soul departs, yet hankers for communion with the living and you have expressed that very well; I particularly liked the last stanza. Amir

New Rhinoceros Children's Book

I've been having a great year and creating lots of new things with Jenny. Over Christmas I was missing my guy Jack, so I wrote a book for him, then Jenny illustrated it. It's called The Toughskin Rhinoceros Wrangler Company. It's a simple story about the lengths we are willing to go to to see the people we miss. And there are dancing rhinoceroses. Here's some of Jenny's art…See More

The Threshold Bookcast : Chapter 13 : Keys To Ascension

Chapter 13 : Keys To AscensionRahu Lüli, the teenage monk from Kõrgus, is once again the central character of the weekly instalment of the Threshold Bookcast. This time, we find the novice reminiscing as he explores unknown territory uphill, following a hunch that has occurred to him prior to the morning ritual. « « Gazing up, the apprentice had detected an odd detail. Something was decidedly wrong about the view, and it couldn't but have a meaning. Over the years, the pitch black walls of…See More

Art is my World

During my earliest year in Elementary School, the only hobby that steals my time is sketching on my notebook. While my teacher is discussing and writing on the board, I am in my chair at the back busy in sketching. In that time I believed that learning could not be taken only from school, and knowledge is not only about speaking and writing but also drawing. My mother exasperated every time she checks my notebook because what she found was not my homework but those faces of my favorite anime like…See More
