About Lucia Gorea, Ph.D
She is the proud member of the Canadian Federation of Poets and "World Poetry Ambassador" to Romania and Hungary. Lucia is the author of five books, including "Journey Through My Soul," a collection of love and mystical poems, "Speak English for Success," "ESL Games and Classroom Activities" and "Welcome to America! A Practical Guide to Life Survival Skills."
She celebrates joy of the written word in her love poems. Lucia is the recipient of several poetry awards, including the Shakespeare Trophy, the International Poetry of Merit Award, the President’s Choice Award, the President’s Award for Literary Excellence, and the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry. The International Library of Poetry has recorded several of her poems on The Sound of Poetry.
She has performed readings and has given lectures in Canada and the US, and has made many television appearances on Rompost TV, Channel M. Lucia is a certified translator with the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters and a member of STIBC.
Lucia’s biographical profile is included in the Marquis Who’s Who encyclopedias.
She lives with her family in Vancouver, B.C. and teaches at the University of British Columbia.

End of a Good Day
Calm as the mind blessed with a peaceful dream
Two souls delight after a busy day
Mother and child in peaceful harmony.
The little waves with their soft, white hands
Efface the footprints in the wavy sand
Salt breeze swoops up from breasted cliffs to tease
Words that vanish unheard into the sky.
The worries of the day are left behind
