Not a child outside plays, but hides inside where mother's eyes are strong, the great mad working world, the school confined children, getting wisdom slapped out of them, no more beauty in a stick, poetry in a bagel, or love in a cloud; perception's hammered like nails into ugly steel

Blessed are we
Who have eyes for life
To stare at the ocean
And her island's green
Knowing what we have seen
amidst the world's commotion
How nature humbles me
Entirely with its energy
Fills me with blessed emotion

Can you hear me slipping soundly?
This is the music of the evening's dress
Rubbing on the fine shores of something pretty and oppressed
Can you see me wading softly?
Holding like winter on what could be the bringing of a crying spring's reserve
Water flowing from the churchyard
Have you heard it's all too serene?
Something whimpers, bellows, whispers
This is the day we laugh and kiss
