"Show your love for your true friends while they are still living as cold hands can not posthumostly smell the roses, although their spirit remains with you forever; they are gone. Also judge people ONLY by the content of their character, not by the color of their skin or the level of wealth!"

ABOUT MY FOLKS:
Mom [Jeanette Bryant] and Dad [James Milton Bland] graduated from Arkansas A M & N College [this school later merged with the University of Arkansas system]. Dad, born October 3, 1930, James Milton Bland a.k.a (also known as) Monk Higgins; best known for the R&B hit instrumentals like "Who Dun It" and "Gotta Be Funky." He wrote a slew of songs for Bobby Bland and the Chi-Lites. My father was a producer, composer, arranger, a session player at Chess Records during the '60s working with cousin Barbara Acklin; he worked with the legendary Etta James, performed & wrote the movie soundtrack from the 1975 film starring Pam Grier in “Sheba, Baby.” Higgins (father) collaborated with Al Bell on hits for Bobby “Blue” Bland during the '70s and '80s. Raised by Mom, my parents had three daughters, Mom & Pop divorced & dad remarried. Pop passed away on July 3, 1986 at 55. Today pops work is sampled by the artists like John Legend, Beyonce, Kanye West and others. My big sis June passed away at 34 years young and every July 17th I miss her more, Mom passed away at 66 years young around Thanksgiving Nov 20th. THE LAST MAJOR BODY OF WORK MY FATHER produced was “BOBBY BL AND” Here We Go Again. MY VIEW ON EMPLOYERS VIEWING SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES PRIOR TO HIRING, “In my opinion, everyone and every artists should have the common sense to keep a day job until they have made it in life to their satisfaction. Further, your day job employer should be delighted and not hold it against you that you have big dreams; no matter how unrealistic others believe them to be. Legendary lead crooner of the Impressions, Jerry Butler (now Cook County Commissioner), enjoys his “day” job and will probably keep it to retain great health benefits; he still manages to perform when opportunities come his way.
