Short Story: Right Turn

Sometimes, it just takes a right turn to find out what’s really important.

Consider Lucy: A 33 year old, married mother of two (eight and ten year olds). She works part time at the local Dept Store selling men’s clothing accessories while her children are at school. Her husband, Jeremy, is a manager at a metal fabricating plant.

Lucy considers that she has mostly taken right turns in her life. Although sometimes she wonders if she really married the right man. Her husband, Jeremy, is a good gu… Continue

Short Story: Winter Revelation

It’s cold. Very cold.

Mike Barody took in the view at the beginning of the snow-covered trail from the small parking lot in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. White lace adorned the naked birch, oak and maple trees standing confidently amidst the not-so-naked and white-laced evergreens that beckon entry to any that may heed the voice of the woods.

He closed the door of his 6-year-old Jeep Cherokee and took a deep breath as he started to walk. The winter air snapped every cell in his lungs t… Continue

Poem: Daily, You and I

You and I

We create newly

through each

and all our days.

You and I
We inspire
others
In all our different ways.

You and I
in concert
newly
to enlighten beyond the sky.

You and I
for a better world
truly
for more than You and I.

Short Story: Is It Against The Law To Kill A Dead Man?

“Is he dead yet!?” Zelda fired her query at the Funeral Director with a thrust of pointed hostility.

In his 32 years running the Morrison Mortuary, Mr. Morrison had become quite adept at handling all manner of people—living or dead. Although consoling the bereaved requires a bit more skill than handling the deceased, he learned to address all with dignified aplomb. “My dear Mrs. Crescent, the hospital did everything they possibly could to save your husband. But this last heart attack was more t… Continue

Dear Mr. Alger,

Thank you very much for the kind words. I checked out your page, also and the photography is striking. I especially liked the canyon shot.

Best,

Thank you George, forgot to mentioned that 'Blue Canadian' are lyrics for a song that I am hoping someone would like to set the music and voices to. I can see Shania Twain singing this one and a few other singers as well..
To date I have over twenty poems all waiting to enter into poetry contests. I am hoping one day to start my own poetry book with various of poetry styles.

Today September 06, 2009 I took a surprise stroll through the slide show. There I was thrilled that my photo is in quite a skillful composition. Thanks so much. I also like that on the Artists site that I can now scroll Alphabetically by using the cursor to find AFABW artist contributors. Reminiscent. Geneva M. Neale (Audain)

Thanks Kent for your comments, your diligent attention and recognition. Very perceptive of you. I'm frankly surprised anyone, other than a literature professor, would see this. Yes, three phiosophies in one poem. But more to the point, in one po...
