Francisco J. Ramirez, also known as Xisco, is a talented, multifaceted visual artist, performing artist, dancer and humanitarian. Through his art, he has contributed support to The Rose Breast Cancer Society, Adult Day Care Centers in L.A., and the New York Fire Department 911 Victim's Funds. He has also dedicated countless hours to the promotion of Mexican cultural traditions. As well, his art has been exhibited throughout Mexico.
In 2002, Francisco modeled a papier mache sculpture in support of the New York Fire Department 911 Victim's Funds.
The Rose Breast Cancer Society commissioned him to design and create the prototype of an angel sculpture for an auction to support the work of the charity. Additionally, the angel sculptures were featured as part of the July 4th celebration entitled "Los Angeles As The Creative Capital Of The World" which was held downtown in 2006.
As part of his efforts to forward Mexican art and traditions, Francisco performs in the annual Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration held at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. This ancient Aztec tradition is a national holiday in Mexico that celebrates and honors the lives and memories of deceased ancestors. He also volunteers his time as part of the committee that produces this festivity.
Making a daily effort to share his artistry with his community for the benefit of humanity, Francisco says: "I believe that a person has the responsibility to contribute to his or her own community to the level of his or her own capabilities."
