- Deedee O'Malley is a prolific singer-songwriter known for an unending ability to write great music. Deedee sang background vocals for Patti LaBelle, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Jermaine Jackson, and The Pointer Sisters. She has already released two award-winning albums, Simple and Beautiful LA. She has opened for Glen Campbell, the Bus Boys and Chris Cagel. Her strong vocal capability and a confident stage presence forged by nearly a decade of Off-Broadway musical theater are only a part of the story of this amazing talent.
Professionally, Deedee writes for film and television projects and teaches songwriting to one-on-one students and workshops. Billy Sheehan says, "Deedee's workshop has the power to rehabilitate a songwriter at any level of success." She has taught songwriting at USC, lectured to thousands of Southern California students on being a performer and indie artist.
Deedee was awarded Singer-Songwriter of the year by the LA Music Awards, a winner of the Lilith Faire competition and is a three-time winner of the prestigious John Lennon songwriting contest.
In addition to all this and raising a family, Deedee fronts the new LA band, Size7Hat as lead singer and principle songwriter.
She also has the talent to write music practically to order. Recent songs were written specially for the Party of Five DVD from Sony, Joan of Arcadia, Strong Medicine and other film and TV projects. One music supervisor called Deedee, told her what he needed, and a few days later Deedee delivered the perfect song for his project ready to sync.
More and more people in the music world are becoming acquainted with this fact: Deedee O'Malley is a major, world class talent.
