CHELSEA ALDEN was just 16 years old when presented with her award. For the past 8 of those years Chelsea had been a member of Celebrity Centre International’s performing artists group called Kids On Stage For A Better World.
Chelsea has performed in over 400 community outreach shows, including for Boys and Girls Clubs, Foster Family Homes, Convalescence Homes as well as at Universal Studios and the LA County Fair. In the summer of 2003 Chelsea went to England and directed a children’s dance workshop while also performing herself as a featured singer and dancer.
In each of her shows Chelsea helps to promote the message to younger children to always:
1) Reach for their goals
2) Stay in school
3) Stay off of drugs
As a lead Spokesperson for Kids On Stage For A Better World, Chelsea leads the group and the audiences in the "Drug Free Marshall Pledge" and directs her audiences to repeat the Pledge of keeping drugs out of their lives and the lives of others.
To further the ideals of building a better world, Chelsea reads to her audiences passages from The Way To Happiness, which is a common sense guide to better living with 21 practical ideas to live a happier life.
In recognition for her work and example of taking responsibility to build a better world, and on behalf of Artists for A Better World, Chelsea was presented with the Artists for A Better World award entitled, OUTSTANDING YOUNG ARTIST: "For personal commitment towards the creation of a better world through aesthetics."
