Thank you all for the compliments! There is actually a story to this one and I shall regale you with the details.

It was early photography days for me. I had one lens - a Nikkor 80 - 200mm. To get my photographer TRs in I would go up to strangers and ask if I could take their pictures. It was fun.

So the first thing I noticed about Ingrid was her eyes. But her mother would not let me shoot her. We would meet casually at the same laundromat every week and pass the time of day - but no photo of Ingrid. Until one day I was showing Mom some pictures I had taken of the children of workmates and she said okay.

This photo was taken in a dim alleyway. Handheld with the lens wide open at f2.8, minimum focusing distance of 6'. I put a reflector on the table and had Ingrid lean on it. And there was something about Ingrid - that look. It was perfect.
